As we pursue our life's dreams, we never know how far we can go. Fortunately, no matter how far, our days as members of the Byrnes Family never leave us. When we became scholars, Mom and Pop Byrnes became an integral part of our growth to adulthood, and gave many of us opportunities we couldn't have enjoyed without their help and support.

The James F. Byrnes Foundation touches our lives in many ways: through scholarship funds that make a life-changing education possible, to Super Weekends where we bond with our Bymes brothers and sisters and find support with others who understand our common experience, to the luncheons and dinners that keep us in touch throughout the year.

In return for their generosity and support, Mom and Pop Byrnes asked only two things from us: become the very best people we could become in life, and make sure their legacy of family continues for those who come after us.

That's why we are writing today; this is our opportunity to preserve the Byrnes legacy. The Opportunity of a Lifetime: A Capital Campaign for the James F. Byrnes Foundation seeks to raise $2,200,000 to secure our ability to invite more deserving young women and men to join the Byrnes family, both now and in the future. We're proud to share that we are nearing our goal, but we are dedicated to the larger goal of counting every member of the Byrnes Family as supporters of this campaign.

Each of us holds the potential of a young student's life within our grasp - and each of us was once that student. In that spirit, we hope that you will consider a gift to this campaign that reflects the importance of Mom and Pop Byrnes's legacy in your life, and will secure the Foundation's permanent ability to make a positive change for young people who suffer one of life's hardest losses - a loss we all understand. Together we can fortify the financial and emotional legacy of the Foundation, so that this fundraising endeavor will sustain the Foundation for generations to come.
